Donna Mann Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal Recipient

Donna Mann, award-winning author of "Aggie's Storms" and Aggie's Dream" was a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her long-time advocacy to heighten the awareness of Agnes Macphail: first woman elected to the Canadian House of Commons, 1921-1940. A ten year project included road-signing for all roads leading into Agnes Macphail's rural routes in Grey County, the co-ordination of building and celebrating a memorial cairn on her birth place, contributions to a national and "webma'am" to a local Macphail website, and to write endless informative material plus a YA trilogy (biographical fiction) spanning the years of Ms Macphail's public, secondary and normal school life.

This award "recognizes the outstanding contribution a recipient has made to our community, our province and to our country". Donna holds volunteer work high in her lifetime goals and continues to try and be where she's needed.
